Seven Layer Dip

I had a potluck on Friday for the superbowl and made 7 layer dip.
It was soo good and soo easy!

Layers:
2 cans of refried beans
Guacomole
8 oz. sour cream mixed with 1/2 a package of Taco Seasoning
Cheese
Green Onions
Tomatoes
Olives

Many people commented on how pretty it looked... That is all thanks to my mom, she likes when things go to the edges ( I agree!) Thanks for helping!

Sugared Bacon Smokies

These are so good. And so so easy!

Ingredients
Lit'l smokies
Bacon
Brown sugar

Cut the bacon into thirds and wrap around a lil smokie. Secure with a toothpick. Line on a foil covered cookie sheet and cover with at least 1 pound of brown sugar. Cook at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. They are so good and would be great as a Superbowl snack!

Honey Bun Cake

We made this from a recipe I found here!

-Ingredients-
1 box yellow cake mix
4 eggs
3/4 cup oil
8 oz sour cream
-Filling-
1 cup brown sugar
1 Tbsp cinnamon
-Icing-
2 cups powdered sugar
4 Tbsp milk
1 Tbsp vanilla

I tweeked it a bit and instead of doing icing we did a crumb topping so it turned out to be more of a crumb cake...
-Crumb Topping-
1/4 C. butter
1/2 C. sugar
3/4 C. Flour
(we also added in a bit of the cinnamon and brown sugar mixture)

Cook at 325 degrees for 30-40 minutes...

Crownies

It's not quite brownies and not quite cake. Therefore we decide to call them Crownies. And the they will be called Crownies. And they shall be my Crownies. ok...sidetracked...

The Ingredients

1 cup margarine, melted

1 cup water

3 rounded Tbsp. cocoa

Boil above ingredients and let cool.

Add to cocoa mixture:

2 cups flour

1 tsp. baking soda

2 cups white sugar

1/2 tsp. salt

1 cup sour cream

Bake in large cookie sheet at 350F for 20 minutes.

Icing:

1/4 cup heavy whipping cream

1/3 cup margarine/butter, melted and cooled

3 Tbsp. cocoa
2 cups powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla and mix well.

Pour over cake while still warm. Enjoy!

Quote Frame

Wow...looks like we are trying to catch up all at once after the Holidays!

I have had this project in mind for quite a while. I got a collage frame at Michael's. It did not come in the color I wanted so I spray painted the frame as well as the mat. I collect 6 of my favorite quotes and printed them on vellum. Mounted them on white paper and then put them on various color backgrounds. And topped it off by embellishing with flowers. It did not take to long to do after I just got started on it. It was a fun and easy project.

Shredded Green Chile Chicken

I altered this recipe a little bit as I have a bigger family and I wanted some leftovers to use in an additional meal. Below is the original recipe as well as my altered recipe.
The Original Recipe
3-5 Chicken Breasts
Couple Bouillon Cubes
1 Jar Herdez Salsa

The Altered Recipe
8-10 Chicken Breasts
Couple Bouillon Cubes
1 Jar of Herdez Salsa
1 Can Green Chile Enchilada Sauce

Add everything to a pot and let cook for an hour. Take out chicken and shred. Add chicken back to pot of juice. Allow to simmer for a few minutes to allow chicken to soak up juices.
This chicken can be used on anything from burritos, tacos, tostadas, etc.
Also made these delicious cookies...thanks Chelsea for that post ... I completely forgot about these cookies. They are so good. An alternative to dropping them on wax paper is spreading it out on a cookie sheet.
